Financial Reporting OfficerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Officer to join our team. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements and reports, including content for the Annual Report, Audit Assurance Committee, Council, and Portfolio Budget Statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Manage day-to-day finance activities, including accounts payable, receivable, travel, asset management, capital spending program, budgeting.
  • Ensure financial and procurement activity is accurately recorded and consistent with contracts, budgets, guidelines, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with system implementation changes and business improvement activities.
  • Produce structured and ad-hoc reports, memos, policies, procedures, and analysis on financial performance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee/preparing taxation returns (including Business Activity Statements, FBT) and provide advice on tax issues.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and support to staff, management, and clients.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, consultants, and internal and external stakeholders, including representing the finance team on internal and external working groups.
