Amentum is excited to present a full-time opportunity for a dedicated labourer to become part of our maintenance team. We are looking for a reliable individual with experience in both construction and landscaping. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in different environments.

As a general labourer, your responsibilities will include working on minor construction projects, utilizing hand and power tools, digging trenches, backfilling, compacting or removing earth, and managing concrete mixing and spreading. You will also assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. In the landscaping sector, your duties will encompass lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, edging, and weed control.

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, with daily tasks overseen by the maintenance leadership team. You will engage in various maintenance activities at residential properties and unit complexes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lawn and Garden Maintenance: Execute tasks such as pruning, reticulation repairs, fencing repairs, and trench digging as per contract requirements.
  • Reticulation Systems Management: Maintain and enhance reticulation systems for optimal performance.
  • Shrub and Tree Care: Plant, prune, and care for shrubs and trees to improve landscaping aesthetics.
  • Small Machinery Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance on small machinery utilized in daily operations.
  • Safety and Collaboration: Adhere to safety protocols, report incidents promptly, work collaboratively within the team, and utilize computer systems for task documentation and planning.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, professionalism with minimal supervision, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and capability to meet deadlines while solving problems efficiently.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in construction and landscaping.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Essential: Current Driver's License.
  • Desirable: HR Driver's License.

Experience

  • Prior experience in construction and landscaping is essential.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This role involves significant physical demands and may require working in hot outdoor conditions.
