Job Summary

The Venue Operations Manager oversees the commissioning of a venue and ensures its smooth day-to-day operations.

About This Role

This key position requires someone with strong leadership skills to manage venue establishment, oversee daily theatre operations, and coordinate service delivery across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission new venues through project planning, budget tracking, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop operational workflows, service standards, staffing structures, resource plans, and ensure regulatory compliance prior to go-live.
  • Oversee theatre operations, coordinate service delivery, and liaise with building management.
  • Implement business continuity plans and emergency procedures in alignment with policies.
  • Manage revenue and financial operations, establish food, beverage, and bar operations, and oversee front-of-house (FOH) operations and ushering services.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications or significant demonstrated experience in venue, theatre, or live operations, including leadership roles.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in venue, theatre, or live event operations, including leadership roles.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food & Beverage management experience in a licensed environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, lead high-performance environments, and work in civic or public spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale operational projects, manage revenue streams, and possess strong communication skills.
