Overview

Director Venue Operations role at NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the precinct operations for Sydney Olympic Park's public spaces and parklands, including major events coordination, safety and security, traffic management, stakeholder engagement, communication and media
  • Lead the strategic and operational management of the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, ensuring seamless coordination of high-profile events and providing operational advice to support infrastructure delivery
  • Act as the Authority's representative across interagency forums, influencing major event and infrastructure outcomes in line with the precinct master plan and regulatory frameworks
  • Foster stakeholder engagement, manage operational risks, and deliver integrated precinct outcomes that support Sydney Olympic Park's transformation

  • Full‑time temporary role until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of an extension
  • Sydney Olympic Park location with hybrid working supported
  • TRP from $225K to $249K including superannuation, commensurate with experience

You are a seasoned executive with deep expertise in precinct operations, major event coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Your background includes leadership in urban parks, leisure venues, or event precincts, complemented by qualifications and experience in risk, security, and crisis management. You thrive in complex, fast-paced environments, balancing regulatory responsibilities with visionary precinct goals. Your leadership style is collaborative, accountable, and results-driven, fostering high-performing teams and resilient partnerships. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach to public space management, with a commitment to safety, sustainability, and high quality customer experience.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority is entrusted with managing some of the state's most significant public assets, transforming the Park into a world-class, sustainable precinct. We oversee daily management of public spaces, sporting venues, parklands and facilities while delivering events, enhancing visitor experiences, and protecting the Park's natural and cultural heritage. Guided by precinct controls and the draft Master Plan 2050, we are shaping a vibrant, connected and high‑quality urban environment.
