Gymnastics Mentorship Program

Our 12-week program supports and challenges individuals through a holistic approach to personal development, covering written and verbal communication skills, independent work, and interpersonal interactions.

This comprehensive program is designed for those seeking to gain their gymnastics qualification, become an Assistant Gymnastics Instructor, and progress towards a career in the successful industry of gymnastics.

As a mentee, you will be part of our close-knit community of energetic people who share a passion for staying active and helping others.

We strive to create warm, inclusive, and safe spaces for vulnerable and underprivileged young people, acting with integrity and respect.

Program Objectives:
  • Gain gymnastics qualification
  • Become an Assistant Gymnastics Instructor
  • Progress towards a career in gymnastics

To ensure your success, we require that you:

  • Complete YMCA pre-course workbook and online generic and gymsport specific course prior to attending intermediate face-to-face lessons/coaching sessions/workshops
  • Attend all scheduled lessons/coaching sessions/workshops
  • Read and understand YMCA Coaches Handbook
  • Complete all assigned homework tasks
  • Complete all ongoing evaluation forms
  • Understand that this is a volunteer-based program (12 weeks)
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Be open to new learning experiences and ideas
  • Able to accept feedback and act upon it
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with others
  • Know when to ask for help
