About the Role

MinterEllison is seeking an experienced Practice Team Leader to join our national Disputes Competition & Insurance Line of Business.

As a key member of the national leadership team, you will lead and build a high-performing legal and consulting support team, managing the day-to-day administration operations of the DCI LoB in Canberra, Brisbane & Perth.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the administrative function of the DCI LoB, including Dispute Resolution, Insurance & Corporate Risk, and Competition, Climate & Technology Business Units
  • Work with Partners to deliver strategic outcomes for administration support, aligned with the firm's and legal consulting support strategy
  • Build trusting relationships with teams across the firm
  • Collaborate on firm-wide projects regarding change impacts to DCI
  • Manage administration support service delivery and processes
  • Manage approvals for the administration team in consultation with Partners
  • Manage ongoing resourcing requirements, including recruitment and onboarding
  • Actively manage and comply with the Legal Services Award
  • Collaborate with PTL colleagues to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Proven people leadership experience and ability to engage a team of administrators in an agile way
  • Previous 5+ years' experience as a Legal Secretary/Executive Assistant in a legal consulting or professional services firm
  • Ability to develop authentic relationships with Partners and stakeholders, establishing credibility and rapport
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage challenging conversations and negotiate positive outcomes
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and needs
  • Ability to create and maintain an inclusive team environment
