Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will provide behaviour support for children and adults with complex disability and psycho-social support needs; complex mental health issues; and trauma-based presentations. You will conduct assessments of a client's presenting issues and support needs, and identify appropriate supports, interventions, and service models.
You will design, develop, and implement intervention plans and strategies, facilitate the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities, and provide client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training, and resource development. You will also work with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes.
The position requires regular travel around the Melbourne metro area and occasional regional travel. Opportunities for interstate/remote area projects are available to our team of practitioners at times. There is also an option to work from home for administration/report writing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline relevant to the field of behaviour support.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience providing direct behaviour support, and registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs.
- Experience in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodiverse populations.
- Experience in providing clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention, and support in the disability, out-of-home care, and/or other relevant sectors.
- Experience in the provision of practice or clinical supervision to other practitioners.
