Vintage Wine Production Assistant

The role of Vintage Cellar Hand is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team responsible for the production of exceptional sparkling wines.

As a key member of the cellar team, you will play a vital role in operating the cellar to produce high-quality wines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Grape receival, pressing, and flotation
  • Fermentation monitoring and additions
  • Tank racking & transfers, and barrel management
  • Precise adherence to cellar safety and hygiene practices

This is an 8-10 week casual position commencing in late January. You will need to demonstrate your ability to adhere to high-quality work standards with strong attention to detail and physical capability to perform key tasks.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A commitment to following rigorous health and safety practices and procedures
  • The ability to perform physically demanding work
  • Availability to work day, afternoon, and night shifts at either Coldstream or remote vineyard sites
  • Residency in Victoria or temporary relocation
  • An attentive and efficient work style, enthusiasm, and strong team player skills
  • The right to work in Australia until at least the end of April 2025
  • A vehicle for travel to and from work
  • A willingness to undergo a physical and medical assessment related to the position and tasks

Desirable qualifications include experience working as a Cellar Hand or in a winery/vineyard, completed or part completion of Winemaking/Viticulture qualifications, and certificates in forklift operations, HR truck license, or confined space training.
