Accounting Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Professional to join our National Management team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting and administration skills.

Your new role will involve providing accounts support across all areas of the accounting system, including reconciliations and reporting. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Financial Controller to ensure compliance with internal financial policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Operating a trust account, including term deposits and investments, and being responsible for preparations of QLS Audit requirements with external accountants/auditors
  • Working across all areas of the accounting system
  • Assisting in reconciliations and reporting as required
  • Entering and paying creditors as required
  • Maintaining confidentiality and privacy of financial information

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including technology optimisation, automation, and standardisation. You will also integrate learnings from others to develop the firm further.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Accounting experience within a law firm
  • Understanding and experience with QLS Trust account rules and regulations
  • Payroll experience
  • High-quality, proactive, and responsive client service
  • Previous experience with a legal practice management system (preferably Actionstep & Xero)
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet key deadlines
