Light Duty Mechanic

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Light Duty Mechanic to join our team at Newmont's Brucejack Mine in Stikine, BC. As a Light Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing light duty mobile equipment to ensure the highest safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, including fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive trains, emission control and exhaust systems, cooling and climate control, electrical and electronic systems.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
- Service attachments and working tools, such as harvesting and tillage equipment, blades, ploughs, winches, and side booms.
- Participate in site-specific training.
Requirements:
- Interprovincial (Red Seal) Trades certification as a Light Duty (Automotive) Mechanic (Technician).
- Minimum 4 years' experience in the maintenance of diesel and gasoline mobile and stationary equipment, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Valid driver's license for any vehicle that may be utilized for the job.
- Certification in workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS) and Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG).
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $58.85, dependent on experience, skills, and competencies, with an additional short-term incentive of 10%. We also provide comfortable on-site accommodations, excellent balanced meals, access to a fully equipped music room, and a range of recreational activities.
