About This Role

The audit supervisor oversees audit operations for client firms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Simultaneously manage various audits, ensuring timely completion and identifying key risk areas and accounting technical matters
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate audit reports
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of clients' businesses to develop a sound audit approach
  • Maintain open communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure deadlines are met
  • Identify areas for improvement in clients' business processes and provide recommendations after assessing internal controls
  • Review and prepare financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Foster strong relationships with clients through professionalism and trust
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to accounting and auditing standards
  • Coach team members to enhance competence and productivity

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in external public practice audit
  • A deep understanding of relevant legislation, Australian Accounting Standards, and Australian Auditing Standards
  • High proficiency in computer systems, including expertise in audit and accounting software
  • Strong organisational and follow-up skills, including handling competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Broad commercial acumen and judgment
  • Sound problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coach colleagues
