Category Manager

We're seeking a Category Manager to join our Procurement team at Coles Group. This role is responsible for maximising value while managing third-party risk, developing and executing capital goods & services plans to deliver sustainable, innovative outcomes.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Category Manager, Capex, Ops & Automation and will work closely with contract managers to maintain Coles' Third-Party Risk Management processes. They will also represent Coles as a commercial partner for engagements across Supermarkets, Liquor, and Coles Local.
Key responsibilities include:
- Commercial lead for negotiations with supplier counterparts to realise benefits & mitigations, including key commercial items and contract formalisation
- Developing and executing key sourcing initiatives/projects to conclusion whilst maintaining ongoing alignment with key business customers and other relevant stakeholders
- Supporting the Senior Category Manager with market research, commodity tracking, strategy development and sensitivity analysis to support the ongoing management of contracts and categories
The ideal candidate will have well-developed commercial experience, with demonstrated experience developing, executing, and maintaining category strategy and vision across a range of categories. They will also have a related tertiary qualification, ideally with Commerce, Legal, or Procurement background.
