Job Title: Senior Press Secretary

About the Role

The Senior Press Secretary will be responsible for developing and implementing media strategies to effectively communicate key messages to the public, stakeholders, and the media. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement media campaigns to promote key economic policy announcements and financial initiatives;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the media, government agencies, and other organizations;
  • Coordinate communications for major economic announcements, working closely with relevant departments and agencies;
  • Provide strategic advice on media relations and crisis communications, drawing on expertise in the economic and political sectors;
  • Monitor media coverage and provide timely analysis and recommendations to senior staff.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Significant senior experience in communications or media, preferably in government, politics, or economic sectors;
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-stakes media relations and crisis communications;
  • A deep understanding of the media landscape, particularly economic and political journalism;
  • Ability to collaborate with policy teams to translate technical and economic content into clear, compelling public messaging;
  • Proficiency in digital communications platforms and social media management;
  • Experience with freedom of information processes and government transparency requirements.
