
Primary Healthcare Specialist

This pivotal position involves delivering culturally sensitive and patient-centered primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Key Responsibilities- Providing culturally responsive patient consultations with full cultural safety training provided.
- Managing chronic disease and preventative health plans.
- Collaborating with Aboriginal Health Practitioners and allied health teams.
- Supporting maternal and child health, mental health, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Utilising telehealth and local referral pathways.
- Ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.
- Participating in peer support and professional development forums.
- Vocationally Registered (VR) GP holding Fellowship with RACGP, ACRRM, or an equivalent college, along with unrestricted medical registration.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in general practice, ideally with exposure to rural, remote, or Aboriginal health settings.
- A strong understanding of cultural safety principles.
- Proficiency in patient care planning.
- The ability to work independently with a community mindset.
- Interest in long-term engagement and continuity of care.
- Base salary up to $390,000.
- $30,000 superannuation.
- $300 per week vehicle allowance.
- Free furnished housing or a $450/week housing allowance, location dependent.
- Work Incentive Payments between $18,000 and $35,000 per year, depending on location.
- Advance Rural Incentives of up to $10,000 per year, based on skills, tenure, and eligibility.
