About the Role

As a Flood Engineering Specialist, you will play a crucial part in our NSW Surface Water Team in Sydney/Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to explore growth with a world-class company and various types and scales of projects within but not limited to NSW and ACT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tackle the delivery of flood assessment on major Transport/Land/Water infrastructure/Dams projects across NSW/ACT.
  • Collaborate across disciplines internally and externally with clients and public authorities to address technical queries and drive an optimum engineering solution.
  • Join as a key member that adds to the diversity of thought, skills, and experience of the group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters' level degree in civil or environmental engineering and tertiary qualification
  • Have 10+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency in TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM, and XP-RAFTS required
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo
  • Familiarity with Dam's related hydrology & breach assessment will be highly regarded
  • Familiarity with Dam's condition and consequence category assessments and yield studies will be highly regarded
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate information and modelling results
  • Strong understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2019
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external client-facing level
  • Ability to lead junior staff and provide mentorship
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects to quality, time and budget
  • Have an interest in technological advances and applying innovation
