About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Management Expert to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our specialist flood team, you will provide technical expertise and project management for various flooding and water resources projects.

Job Description

As a Flood Management Expert, you will:

  • Act as a technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in flood modelling, floodplain management, and/or flood response, warning, and intelligence.
  • Develop innovative yet commercially focused flooding solutions to deliver quality project and organisational outcomes for a range of public and private customers.
  • Perform high-quality and professional technical work involving considerable independence in approach and a high degree of originality, ingenuity, and judgement.
  • Project manage/direct a range of projects to scope and within time, cost, and quality requirements, as well as undertake client liaison and management.
  • Assist with business development initiatives by preparing proposals, client networking, and relationship development, maintaining an awareness of emerging best practice methodologies and attending industry-related events.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or other relevant area of study.
  • More than 6 years' post-graduate experience. Level of role will depend on level of experience.
  • A proven track record delivering high-quality solutions and project outcomes using hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software (ideally TUFLOW and application of ARR2019) or applying flood risk management best practice.
  • Project management skills coupled with aligned skills in verbal and written communication, time management, commercial acumen, and client management.
  • Demonstrated ability and/or desire to provide support, training, and mentoring to other team members in industry recognised best practice.
