About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at Monash University. As a specialist in skeletal muscle tissue engineering, you will lead innovative scientific projects focusing on the development of novel tissue engineering strategies using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) in microfabricated devices (PDMS) and leveraging spatial transcriptomics to explore intercellular communication at specialized cellular junctions both in vivo and in vitro.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research independently or collaboratively, contributing to high-quality publications and conference presentations
  • Engage in professional activities, including attending relevant seminars and conferences
  • Support limited administrative functions and develop research-related materials for teaching as needed
  • Design and execute advanced laboratory experiments, utilizing sophisticated equipment and methodologies
  • Offer guidance within your research field to postgraduate students and participate in relevant meetings and committees
Key Selection Criteria
  • A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or a closely related field
  • Proven research skills, including manuscript preparation and a track record of refereed publications
  • Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and innovative thinking
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience in iPSC cell culture, differentiation, organ-on-chip technology, muscle biology, and microscopy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software, with a willingness to learn new tools
