Product Acquisition Manager

We are seeking a Product Acquisition Manager to join our team at Australia's number one online retailer of furniture, homewares and home improvement products.


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a product portfolio, including selecting and sourcing home improvement private label ranges to maximise profits.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Category team to understand e-commerce retailing, customer insights and private label range opportunities.
  • Develop exclusive home improvement ranges with local and internationally based suppliers.
  • Manage the development, selection and sourcing of direct import and local FIW private label home improvement products to meet revenue, gross profit, inventory and KPI targets.
  • Operate within agreed processes that ensure sourced products deliver outstanding customer satisfaction and meet all compliance and quality requirements.
  • Liaise with multiple suppliers to ensure timely supply of accurate product information and imagery for entry into systems.
  • Ensure on-site accuracy of all product information and images to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of range performance using comprehensive site data to enable quick decisions that maximise inventory productivity.
  • In conjunction with the Quality and Compliance team, ensure all relevant product safety standards and government regulations are adhered to.
  • Actively work with suppliers on continuous improvement plans, automation and improving efficiencies.
  • Follow up on all internal inquiries to deliver exceptional customer experiences and minimise queries.
  • Stay at the forefront of home improvement market trends and react to changes in demand.
  • Conduct competitor analysis on products and prices to make strategic recommendations.

Requirements
  • A minimum 3 years experience in direct home improvement, furniture or homewares sourcing, preferably for Australian retail.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends through sales and performance data.
  • A thorough understanding of import supply chain processes.
  • A proven history in identifying and sourcing winning home improvement products for private label.
  • Previous eCommerce experience is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated interest and uptake of AI capability to drive efficiency in your work.
  • Strong written and verbal skills capable of communicating cross-culturally.
  • Experience sourcing quality product from Asian manufacturers.
  • Ability to travel overseas as required.
  • A supportive team player with proven skills in collaborating with internal and external teams.
