Principal Civil Engineer - Water Infrastructure Leader

Location: Melbourne, VIC | Employment Type: Full-time | Seniority Level: Technical Expert

We seek a highly experienced civil engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of major water infrastructure projects across Australia. This role combines deep technical expertise with project leadership, client engagement, and mentoring responsibilities.

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight on civil design of water infrastructure projects from concept to delivery.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for integrated outcomes.
  • Act as a technical advisor on water projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and sustainability goals.
  • Support project directors and bid teams in winning new work, including technical input into proposals and client presentations.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with clients, utilities, and government agencies to build long-term relationships and ensure project alignment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership and oversight on civil design of water infrastructure projects from concept to delivery.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for integrated outcomes.
• Act as a technical advisor on water projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and sustainability goals.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 15+ years experience in civil engineering with strong focus on water infrastructure projects in Australia.
• Proven track record in leading the design and delivery of large-scale water projects.
