The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Financial Manager to lead the department's internal budget process and corresponding investment strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the monitoring and reporting of key initiatives and projects across the justice portfolio, including the management of the annual budget cycle and corresponding committees.
The role involves providing effective leadership that drives complex analysis, reports, and submission processes for the department, including the Expenditure Review Committee, Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC) and Annual Report process. The Financial Manager will also undertake complex financial and non-financial analysis to provide advice to inform the department's strategic decision-making on matters involving the department's budget profile, financial sustainability, savings initiatives, and other policies and programs as required.
- Provide effective leadership that drives the department's internal budget process and corresponding investment strategy.
- Lead and drive complex analysis, reports, and submission processes for the department.
- Undertake complex financial and non-financial analysis to provide advice to inform the department's strategic decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in public sector policy and financial management.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and research skills with an aptitude for problem-solving in the context of financial and budget resource management.
- Relevant qualification in policy, strategy, or finance is desirable.
