Underground Coal Mining Team Lead

About the Opportunity:
Mastermyne Coal Operations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Coal Mining Team Lead to join our Cook Colliery project team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our mining operations.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring to our underground crews. You will have statutory responsibility to supervise the mining operations for Cook Colliery, coordinating all activities across each shift and ensuring the safety of our people while meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and productive mining environment.
- Contribute mining expertise to the development of the plan for all major processes.
- Apply statutory obligations.
- Communicate plans and issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Provide mentoring and coaching.
- Produce the shift report covering maintenance/production work undertaken.
- Highlight activities and issues for the daily review meeting.
- Review and advise on the practicality and effectiveness of the daily plan.
Minimum Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in Underground Coal Mining.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Second Class/Third Class Statutory Certificate.
- Previous experience in the role of Shift Undermanager or Deputy/ERZ Controller.
- A sound understanding of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, regulations, and JSA's.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Proactive approach to workplace safety and commitment to keeping our people safe.
