Rigging TD/Generalist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to assume the role of Rigging Technical Director/Generalist.

This is a challenging position that requires the individual to collaborate closely with the Senior Rigger, animation team, and other crew members to establish character rigs, manage assets, and perform generalist tasks throughout the production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishing biped and quadruped rig setups for productions
  • Managing prop assets in our pipeline
  • Retargeting motion capture animation to custom rigs
  • Other tasks as directed by Senior Rigger and Animator
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Arts, Computer Animation, or relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • A strong understanding of anatomy, geometry, and animation
  • Proficiency in Maya and basic MEL scripting
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Experience rigging biped characters
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Python scripting
Additional Requirements:
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
