Operations Leader ANZ

You will lead the safe, efficient operation of Distribution Centres in ANZ. Your responsibility is to motivate staff to improve processes and performance, supporting strategic objectives for service, quality, and cost.

• Provide clear leadership, developing a high-performing and highly engaged team.
• Support facility development to maximize capacity.
• Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.
• Maintain a strong health and safety culture within DC.
• Drive high-performance in DC.
• Engage DC employees through clear leadership.
• Implement efficient and robust processes and procedures within DC.
• Lead leadership teams and provide direction.
• Manage local carriers and negotiations as agreed with Global Freight Manager.
• Involve Global Facilities Function in facilities management.
• Optimize customer service levels across the DC network.
• Maintain a safe working environment, minimizing risks and delivering high housekeeping standards.
• Develop DC leadership teams to meet business plans.
• Evaluate resource availability and skills to meet current and future business needs.
• Manage 3rd-party Logistics contracts, ensuring contract compliance and service levels.
• Maintain quality control processes and report non-compliance from internal and external sources.
• Develop and deliver market stock strategies, manage inventory health, and support functional decision-making for optimal ROI.
• Collaborate with regional and global product and supplier management to accelerate locally sourced inventory transition.
• Implement, adhere to, and continuously improve S&OP process execution.
• Coordinate indirect procurement and assign cost-saving targets.
• Work with warehouse teams to drive inventory management process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish an EH&S committee and direct people to contribute to EH&S initiatives and Safety Improvement Plan in ANZ.
• Arrange effective consultation and participation of employees, promoting a culture of health & safety.
• Take overall responsibility for preventing accidents and ill health.
• Foster a culture of openness regarding the reporting of unsafe conditions and behaviors.

• Strong Health and Safety knowledge, experience, and awareness.
• Senior management level experience in managing time-critical, high-volume Distribution Centres.
• Strong change management skills, both process and employee leadership.
• Degree-level education or equivalent.
• Ability to establish strategic and tactical plans, providing leadership to respond to business, market, legislative, or environmental developments.
• Leadership skills to rectify operational non-conformances.
• Ability to interpret business/supply chain forecasts and establish cost-effective processes in DC.
• Establish controls and reporting to ensure high performance, providing leadership and direction.
• Formulate full-year budgets for labour, overheads, and capital for DC.
• Negotiate with carriers in delivery of freight strategy as agreed with Global Freight Manager.
• Negotiate with and influence employee representative bodies as appropriate.
• Effective communication skills, both formal and informal, with all levels.
• Develop positive industrial and employee relations.
• General awareness of good business practices and stakeholder management techniques.
• Experience working in a customer-led service delivery organization.
• Leading large teams in a time-critical environment.
• Experience in using and implementing Warehouse Management Systems.
• Demonstrable understanding of change management and working in a continuous improvement environment.
• Knowledge and experience of the local market parcel carrier sector.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships across business areas and levels.
• Influencing skills to persuade, motivate, and influence team members and management across multiple business areas.
