ICT Engineer Job Description

This role involves leading projects from concept to delivery, shaping innovative engineering solutions, mentoring junior team members, and strengthening our presence in the ANZ region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce ICT infrastructure design packages, including written reports, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, and procurement packs.
  • Meet quality and delivery standards consistent with project demands.
  • Develop 2D CAD design drawings and 3D Revit models in collaboration with BIM team colleagues, emphasizing design coordination and clash detection with MEP services.
  • Represent RED ICT at technical meetings, customer interactions, and contractor teams.
  • Ensure specifications, drawings, and calculations meet project design briefs, industry, legal, and quality standards.
  • Adopt a holistic view in selecting and applying ICT infrastructure design concepts and solutions.
  • Coordinate ICT design with related engineering disciplines, such as electrical and mechanical.
  • Work towards timely successful team output and production.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Develop a clear understanding of client requirements from a technical and operational standpoint.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering with at least 2 years' experience in ICT infrastructure design engineering.
  • Data cabling manufacture/contracting experience.
  • IT/IP network systems integration knowledge.
  • Network technology vendor/manufacturer experience.
  • Technical qualifications and design experience in technologies like Structured Cabling Systems, Data Cabling Containment Systems, IP/Ethernet Data Network (LAN/WAN), Wireless Data Network (WiFi), and Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services.
  • Industry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, BICSI, or Uptime Institute certifications.
  • Awareness of ICT implications related to MEP building services, network security engineering, and power supply and cooling systems.
  • High competency level in AutoCAD and Bluebeam, and working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks models.
  • Familiarity with BIM levels and processes.
  • Good understanding of building design standards/regulations/codes and relevant IT systems certification standards.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work to deadlines, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and engagement skills.
  • Sound commercial awareness and ability to act ethically according to Group principles.
