Job Title: Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide support and assistance to Aboriginal students, their parents/guardians, teachers, and the community through the sharing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

  • Support Aboriginal students, their parents/guardians, teachers, and the community
  • Promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture within the school community
  • Develop and implement educational programs in collaboration with teachers and other professionals
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and the wider community
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be well organised, reliable, and flexible while working in a dynamic educational environment.

Requirements
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa with relevant work rights
  • Valid Working With Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history
  • Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders

  3. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
