Wellbeing Mental Health Professionals

The wellbeing workforce initiative has been established to support state school students in Queensland. The additional wellbeing professionals provided through this initiative will ensure every student has access to support for their wellbeing at school.
As a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will offer therapeutic support to students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate interventions
- Deliver individual and group interventions to students addressing mental health concerns
- Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom
- Develop referral and case management processes to support service delivery
- Coordinate referrals to external agencies and work collaboratively with networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students
- Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students
- Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team
The cluster is comprised of 7 schools situated within the Darling Downs South West Region of Queensland.
The largest secondary and primary schools are located in St George, a Prep to year 10 school is located in Dirranbandi and 4 small primary schools are located in Bollon, Begonia, Hebel and Thallon.
The 4 small primary schools also offer State Delivered Kindy.
