Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Site Construction Engineer to join our team at Employ Me. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in supporting senior engineers and project managers in overseeing and managing construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Support and Coordination: Assist senior engineers and site managers in daily project activities, review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the project scope, and monitor progress on-site to ensure adherence to project timelines and construction standards.
  • Site Supervision: Conduct on-site inspections to ensure work is being completed according to designs and specifications, support in managing subcontractors and labor teams, and report any site issues, delays, or safety concerns to the project engineer or site manager.
  • Health and Safety: Assist in implementing and enforcing safety protocols according to Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards, ensure that all site activities comply with safety regulations, and report any safety incidents or hazards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control checks to ensure that materials and workmanship meet the required standards, document and report any quality issues to the senior engineer or project manager, and assist with troubleshooting and resolving construction challenges as they arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety reports, and assist in preparing reports for project managers and clients, providing updates on project status and any issues encountered.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of activities, and assist in communication between on-site teams and the office-based design and project teams.
  • Materials and Resource Management: Assist in managing and coordinating the delivery of materials and equipment on-site, and monitor stock levels to ensure materials are available to meet project requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience in the construction industry, including internships or placements (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Certifications: Construction Induction (White Card) mandatory for working on Australian construction sites, and familiarity with WHS (Work Health and Safety) guidelines is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Drivers License: A valid Australian drivers license is essential, as travel between sites may be required.
Work Environment:
  • Physical Requirements: The role requires spending time outdoors on construction sites, with exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands.
  • Travel: Travel to different construction sites may be required, depending on the location of projects.
