At Talent Focus, we are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Officer to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain department, you will play a pivotal role in driving business success by ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement and inventory management.

Job Summary:

  • We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer who can proficiently exercise inventory and procurement operations, upholding customer satisfaction, reducing expenses, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Inventory Optimization: Analyze demand patterns, sales forecasts, and historical data to determine ideal stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock levels, preventing stockouts while minimizing surplus inventory.
  • Purchasing Management: Execute the procurement process comprehensively, from initiation to completion, identifying purchasing requirements, fostering relationships with suppliers, soliciting price quotations, negotiating contracts or agreements, and confirming purchase orders.
  • Supplier Management: Identify dependable and cost-effective suppliers, negotiate favourable terms and pricing, and foster robust communication channels, consistently assessing supplier performance and exploring avenues for enhancement.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks like supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, or supplier reliability issues, and devise strategies to mitigate them, minimizing the impact of unforeseen events on procurement operations.
  • Compliance and Ethical Standards: Adhere to company policies and procedures, conduct thorough due diligence on suppliers, and advocate for ethical practices in procurement activities, upholding the organization's reputation and mitigating legal and compliance risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze procurement data, and identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains, enhancing procurement effectiveness and minimising cycle times.
  • Effective Master Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate, reliable, and high-quality data within the set ERP System, including daily upkeep for purchasing-related activities.
  • Provide backup support to other members of the supply chain team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Possess an appropriate trade or commercial background related to supply chain and logistics, with a focus on purchasing, freight, and inventory management.
  • Requires a minimum of four years' experience in purchasing activities.
  • Requires intermediate knowledge of Microsoft tools with medium Excel abilities.
  • Experience with Navision/SAP would be advantageous.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
