Job Title: Consultant Obstetrician

To provide high-quality obstetric and gynaecological services at Central Gippsland Health (CGH) Sale and outreach services as required. Lead junior medical staff, midwives, and nurses to improve patient care through education, peer review, and clinical governance activities. Promote seamless service operation through engagement with the O&G clinical group.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiate and manage the clinical care of obstetric and gynaecological patients, including inpatients, antenatal clinic, emergency department, and other areas of CGH.
  • Support the implementation of the CGH Maternity Services Plan, developing a woman-centred model of care based on the National Childbirth Association guidelines and informed by women's feedback.
  • Provide clinical leadership within the unit, working collaboratively with other clinicians and senior nursing, midwifery, and allied health staff.
About You
  • Hold a primary medical qualification registered or registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or meet the college's assessment criteria).
  • Undergo a Police Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • Comply with the Employee Health Screening and Immunisation Policy, providing evidence of mandatory immunisations/vaccinations (including COVID-19 vaccinations) prior to commencing employment.
