As an insurance professional, you will play a vital role in supporting underwriting teams to achieve department and corporate goals. This role provides a strong foundation of underwriting knowledge and industry experience to support a career pathway in insurance.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist underwriters in achieving new business, rate, and retention targets for assigned books of business to support revenue and profit goals.
  • Prepare for account reviews with underwriters/management, demonstrating knowledge of risk, industry, competitive environment, and company products and capabilities.
  • Manage sales pipelines to identify and develop new business prospects.
  • Provide input on underwriting results, profit analysis, market environment, competitor analysis, and ad hoc reports and projects.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for acceptance or declination on risks based on guidelines.
  • Build good working relationships with local underwriting teams and ensure regular communication with local underwriting management on appropriate issues.
  • Support the underwriting community through liaison with and participation at meetings with brokers, internal departments, and external advisers.
  • Provide general assistance to underwriters for broker and/or client visits and other administrative duties as agreed with operations team leaders/supervisors.
  • Handle requests and queries from customers and coordinate with appropriate departments to resolve first-level customer complaints.

  • Financial and company analysis skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and Outlook; excellent general computer literacy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
