Job Description

We are seeking an experienced insurance professional with around 5 years of post-qualification experience to join our busy practice in Sydney. The successful candidate will gain exposure to complex general insurance and litigation matters involving coverage, financial lines, directors and officers (D&O) and professional indemnity defence.

The role involves day-to-day handling and management of high-value coverage disputes for professional institutions, financial institutions, corporate service providers, directors and officers (D&O), as well as providing clear written advice to clients.

Our team in Sydney has extensive experience across multiple lines of insurance work, with a particular depth of expertise in professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors and officers (D&O), medical malpractice, public and product liability, property and construction, energy, cyber, marine, transport and employment.

  • Handling high-value coverage disputes for financial institutions
  • Directors and Officers insurance
  • High-value professional liability claims
  • Subrogated recoveries on behalf of insurers
  • International arbitrations

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' defendant insurance experience from a reputable team or firm
  • Ability to run with matters autonomously with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Desire to manage and mentor more junior lawyers in the team
  • Methodical and organized approach to file management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism and integrity, displaying the highest standard of professional ethics
