About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Therapeutic Care Home Manager to lead our new therapeutic care home in the Central Coast. As a key member of our team, you will work in partnership with a Therapeutic Specialist and Case Manager to implement the CARE model and ensure a safe, homelike environment that supports Children & Young People in our care to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Home Operations: Oversee the daily operation of our therapeutic care home, ensuring compliance with the CARE model, legislation, relevant standards, and funding body requirements.
  • Provide Direct Care: Provide direct care and support to children and young people within a residential care setting, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Lead and Mentor Staff: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of dedicated youth support workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality therapeutic care.
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Oversee and participate in the planning and implementation of therapeutic care plans, working collaboratively with the Therapeutic Specialist and Case Manager.
  • Model and Support Therapeutic Crisis Intervention: Model and support staff in applying the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children and young people.
  • Manage and Support Staff: Manage, support, and provide reflective supervision to your team, promoting their professional development and well-being.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A Diploma of Community Services, Youth work, or related field (a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience).
  • Leadership Experience: Previous leadership experience in services that support Children & Young People, such as OOHC and ITC settings.
  • Support Experience: Experience supporting people with disabilities, complex health needs, and those who exhibit pain-based behaviors of concern.
  • Supervision and Support: Ability to provide supervision and support to a team of Therapeutic Care Workers, to embed the delivery of therapeutic models of support to Children & Young People.
  • Certifications: Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID009) Certificate/s and a current Driver's License.
