Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our support services, you will play a vital role in helping clients with disabilities live the life they deserve.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide person-centered support to clients, focusing on skill development and enrichment through engaging activities. This may include supporting clients with daily living tasks, participating in recreational activities, and assisting with personal care needs.

You will work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other support workers to develop and implement individualized plans that promote independence, confidence, and overall well-being.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others and contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive community.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment, prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible and willing to work varying shifts, including afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • Experience working with high-needs disability clients is highly desirable.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent is desirable.
