Role Overview

The Queensland Fire Department is seeking Communications Officers to work in various locations across the state.

This role involves accepting incoming emergency calls and enquiries, collecting relevant information, and dispatching appropriate resources to assist with emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and gather essential details.
  • Evaluate risks associated with situations and determine suitable responses.
  • C Coordinate resource allocation for emergency responses and notify relevant parties as required.
  • Maintain and update incident data in computer-aided dispatch systems.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship or equivalent residency status.
  • Holding a valid Blue Card from Blue Card Services.
  • Able to obtain Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Communications Centre Operations) within a specified timeframe.
  • Desirable: High typing speed with accuracy, Apply First Aid and CPR Certificates.
