Computer Science Instructor

We are seeking an experienced educator to lead our computer science courses. As a lecturer, you will inspire students to excel academically and prepare them for thriving careers in the field of study.
Main Responsibilities:
- Course Delivery: Design and deliver engaging lectures and practical workshops that equip students with cutting-edge skills.
- Academic Support: Provide personalized support, mentoring, and guidance to students through their projects, offering constructive feedback to foster innovation and technical proficiency.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design and development of accredited higher education curriculum, ensuring it meets standards and industry trends, collaborating with industry professionals to integrate emerging technologies and techniques into course content.
- Industry Engagement: Actively promote the Institute's achievements, students, and staff within the professional community to strengthen its profile, engaging with the wider industry to maintain strong connections to current practices and opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate can demonstrate skills and experience in a selection of the following criteria:
- A postgraduate qualification, Masters level (or higher)
- A high level of professional industry practice or academic experience
- Teaching or training experience in higher education or professional environments
- Experience in IT and Cyber Security Fundamentals
- Technical Knowledge in cybersecurity principles, networking, databases (SQL), hardware, and software fundamentals.
- Ability to convey foundational IT and cybersecurity concepts effectively and guide students through practical exercises
- Knowledge of software development fundamentals
- Strong understanding of software development life cycles, especially Agile methodologies, and familiarity with tools such as JIRA
- Experience in software development or systems analysis, including requirements gathering and project scoping using Agile frameworks
- Excellent communication skills to teach both technical and collaborative aspects of software development with real-world relevance
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools like JIRA, Trello, or similar Agile management software
- Passion for helping students reach their full potential and providing an outstanding student experience
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with excellent organisational and communication abilities
