**Job Opportunity:**
We're seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Environmental Planning Specialist. This role involves providing expert advice and guidance on sustainable planning practices, renewable energy solutions, and environmental impact assessments.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of strategic policies, processes, and influences affecting the natural and built environment. They will also have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes through proactive, informed, and decisive communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients on renewable energy projects, including development capability, due diligence, and planning approval processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and advice for clients across various sectors.
- Develop and maintain client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice, and managing expectations.
- Assist with writing submissions, proposals, and advice that accurately reflects clients' needs.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects, including scoping, costing, tracking job costs, and coordinating consultants and sub-consultants when necessary.
- Identify and raise issues that may impact fee estimates and/or project delivery timelines.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance and the Planning team's Business Plan.
- Collaborate with other professionals on multi-disciplinary projects, working to specification, deadlines, budget, and commercial outcome.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within the Town Planning industry, preferably in the renewable energy and sustainability sector.
- Alternatively, capability in environmental impact assessment and state significant development in other sectors in NSW, now looking to transition to the energy sector.
- Proficient appreciation and understanding of impacts and issues affecting the natural and built environment, alongside a strong understanding of strategic policies, processes, and influences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Influences outcomes through proactive, informed, and decisive communication.
- SUCCESSFULLY MANAGES CLIENT PRIORITIES AND EXPECTATIONS.
- Prioritizes and manages competing demands of multiple assignments and/or projects within agreed timeframes and budget.
