Youth Mentoring Specialist

Position Overview:
We are looking for dedicated individuals to provide mentoring services to young individuals who require guidance and support. This role involves working closely with youth to help them build self-esteem and achieve their aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture supportive relationships with mentees to foster trust and confidence.
- Assist in the creation of personalized goal plans and case strategies that reflect the cultural backgrounds of the youth.
- Encourage participation in educational, vocational, or volunteer opportunities to help mentees realize their full potential.
- Support mentees in developing essential life skills and prepare them for a successful transition into adulthood.
- Maintain cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions with mentees.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of Safe Environments training.
- Certification in Responding to Abuse and Neglect.
- Strong communication abilities to connect with youth from various backgrounds.
- Commitment to reflective practices that enhance individual strengths.
- Ability to evaluate needs and collaboratively design effective support plans for at-risk youth.
- Relevant qualifications in Psychology, Community Services, Social Work, or related fields are preferred.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
