Critical Care Unit Leadership Opportunity

Hobart Private Hospital, a leading private healthcare provider in Tasmania, is seeking a full-time Nurse Unit Manager to join our Critical Care team.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the ward, complementing the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources, ensuring optimal customer service levels.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives to promote growth, identify clinical areas for expansion, and represent the hospital at external clinical forums.
  • Undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
  • Work as part of the healthcare team, adhering to Healthscope and site policies and procedures, and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety, and achievement of hospital accreditation.
  • Take an active role in the management of WHS issues pertaining to the unit.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in a related critical care stream.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on key KPIs.
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice, and facilitation.
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Senior Nurse with at least three years' experience working in a managerial capacity.
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
  • Proven time management and prioritization skills.
