Critical Care Unit Leadership Opportunity

Hobart Private Hospital, a leading private healthcare provider in Tasmania, is seeking a full-time Nurse Unit Manager to join our Critical Care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the ward, aligning with the hospital's operational processes, budget, and business direction.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management of the unit, coordinating the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.
  • Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources, maintaining optimal customer service levels.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives to promote growth, identify clinical areas for expansion, and represent the hospital at external clinical forums.
  • Undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, adhering to Healthscope and site policies and procedures, and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety, and hospital accreditation.
  • Take an active role in managing WHS issues pertaining to the unit.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in a related critical care stream.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on key KPIs.
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice, and facilitation.
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Senior Nurse with at least three years' experience working in a managerial capacity.
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
  • Proven time management and prioritization skills.
