Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Cyber and Technology Practice team. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for delivering underwriting profit and growth in our Cyber and Technology business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve financial targets and underwriting results for assigned producers.
  • Evaluate and accept or decline new lines, renewals, and endorsements within delegated authority.
  • Recommend account trade-off decisions and assist in providing input on portfolio analysis, profit analysis, premium planning, market and environment analysis, process and systems effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Responsible for underwriting results of assigned producers and provide input on premium planning variance.

Requirements

  • Proficient in finding solutions for unique underwriting situations.
  • Well-versed in pricing techniques and knowledgeable about account servicing costs.
  • Familiar with alternative risk transfer methods and capable of developing reserves on a case-by-case basis and for a portfolio of business.
  • Aware of the key accounts in the Branch and understands the underwriting appetites of other departments and their impact on interdepartmental accounts.
  • Familiar with the broker selection and appointment process and able to recommend tailored coverage and manuscript policies.
  • Knowledgeable about the products and services offered by key competitors and skilled in utilizing a wide range of negotiation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and influence decisions.
  • Understanding of portfolio analysis and the renewals process in underwriting.
