About the Role

Catholic Healthcare is seeking a highly experienced and technically capable Financial Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Finance Team, you will be responsible for leading and empowering a team of 5 Financial Accountants to ensure all month-end tasks and reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Accounting Activities: Ensure all financial accounting activities are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Month-End Process: Full accountability for the month-end process, including posting of journals, reviewing of trial balance and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Liability Balance Sheet: Monitoring, reviewing and recommending amendments to the liability balance sheet.
  • Financial Regulations and Reporting: Ensuring adherence to all relevant financial and accounting regulations, standards, and reporting requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Financial Reports: Oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports to regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
  • Financial Statements: Leading the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements and monthly business reviews.
  • Team Leadership: Leading, inspiring, and developing a harmonious productive team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Commerce (or equivalent).
  • Experience: 10+ years demonstrated experience in financial accounting, corporate finance, or similar.
  • Team Leadership: Min 3+ years demonstrated experience in a similar team people leadership position.
  • Technical Skills: Technically strong on the knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment impacting financial planning and analysis.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Aged Care/Healthcare/NDIS - Preferred.
