About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and contributing to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents, working collaboratively with other emergency service providers to ensure effective and efficient responses.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities, developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities, ensuring the safe and effective operation of specialist firefighting and rescue equipment.
  • Participate in incident reporting and general station administration, promoting a positive team approach in all work activities.

Requirements

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Ability to commit to attending 50% of emergency incidents as a day worker, or 30% as a shift worker or with non-routine hours
  • Ability to attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions
