Job Title: Communication Security Specialist

This role is responsible for maintaining high-level communication security procedures in accordance with national doctrine and regulations. You will inform and educate other employees on best practices of communication security responsibilities and collaborate with the communication security team to ensure compliance with people, equipment, material, and infrastructure.

The position involves COMSEC policy advice, internal auditing, COMSEC training, customer service, fleet management, business planning, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and management reporting. You will work collaboratively with members of the communication security team and the service delivery team to provide high assurance COMSEC accounting and practices in support of provided networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice to staff, clients, and agencies on best communication security practices in accordance with National Communication Security policy.
  • Establish and maintain routine practices for communication security accountability.
  • Request dispensations where required for a change in accounting procedures to support the assurance of cryptographic material and equipment.
  • Report any compromise or suspected compromise in the correct timeframes to the appropriate recipients.
  • Ensure Safehand procedures are adhered to and relevant to the required consignment.
  • Engage with the team and stakeholders on best communication security practice for the security and functionality of EUDs and networks.
  • Inform the authority on specific communication security requirements to ensure risk mitigation and assurance.
  • Provide feedback on policy and documentation as directed by the authority.
  • Act within the boundaries of COMSEC service agreements in supporting, managing, and maintaining healthy COMSEC practices for all products and networks.
  • Maintain communications and requests for issue, transfer, and destruction of communication security material and/or equipment.
  • Maintain relations with supporting COSMEC accounts, including boundaries and requirements agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
  • Brief customers and clients on COMSEC accountability as part of operating an End User Device (EUD).
