About the Role

Optimal Recruitment Australia is seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our client's expanding Finance Team based on Sydney's Northern Beaches. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for facilitating the process of opening new customer accounts, maintaining existing customer accounts, and managing a customer ledger.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Account Opening and Maintenance: Facilitate the process of opening new customer accounts, including sending credit application forms to prospective customers, follow up of outstanding information, organising credit references, and opening new accounts in Pronto.
  2. Customer Ledger Management: Manage a customer ledger and maintain KPI's such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  3. Cash Allocation and Payment Follow-up: Process daily cash allocations and follow up on outstanding payments.
  4. Invoice Processing and Claims: Total invoices on a monthly basis and provide a Claims Total Balance to the Credit Team Leader for review.
  5. Statement Runs and Customer Updates: Conduct monthly Statement Runs for all accounts and monitor/update all customers on a regular basis for change in possible credit status.
  6. Dispute Resolution and Investigation: Liaise with the Business to solve queries relating to disputed invoices and investigate un-reconciled payments.
  7. Administrative Support: Provide occasional back up for the AP officer and assist with end of month procedures, updating of cash sale accounts, and assistance with the daily banking.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, working in larger organisations (distribution would be an advantage).
  2. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  3. High attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  4. General problem solving and analytical skills a must.
  5. Must be a self-starter and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  6. Excellent organisational and time management skills working in a fast-paced environment.
