Job Opportunity

The Infrastructure Utilities Leader will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, execution, and delivery of utility-related projects across a complex defence infrastructure precinct.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of utility integration projects from initiation through to commissioning and handover.
  • Develop detailed project plans, scopes, and strategies in alignment with corporate governance and funding frameworks.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, utility providers, government stakeholders, and defence industry partners to ensure seamless integration.
  • Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes across utility interfaces.
  • Precinct wide coordination role for Utilities relocations, Utility augmentation, and other Precinct works to be carried out.
  • Administer Utilities design and construction contracts to ensure compliance with relevant standards and Defence requirements.
  • Support broader precinct planning and infrastructure upgrades related to precinct operations.
  • Prepare and present reports, briefings, and updates to executive leadership, government stakeholders, and project partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in infrastructure delivery or utilities project management within large-scale construction, defence, or infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects with complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of utility design, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in infrastructure delivery or utilities project management.
  • A valid Australian driver's license (Class C).

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Professional knowledge of major projects including design, construction, and maintenance techniques and practices.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher. Australian citizenship is required.

Note: This position requires significant practical experience in major projects and adherence to strict security protocols.
