Position Overview - Graduate Admissions Support Assistant

Department: Graduate & International Admissions

Role Summary:

Hourly Compensation: $16/hr

  • Facilitates daily operations within the Graduate Admissions team and aids the Admissions Office personnel.
  • Engages with prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Contributes to communication strategies, event organization, and outreach initiatives targeting potential graduate students through the university's CRM system.
  • Ensures confidentiality in all student-related interactions, meetings, correspondence, and documentation.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Graduate Admissions unit, encompassing general office responsibilities such as answering inquiries, data management, reviewing and processing applicant documentation, and preparing reports and presentations.
  • Assists in organizing and supporting Graduate Admissions events at various locations, participating actively as required.
  • Maintains a professional appearance by adhering to staff dress code and business casual standards.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Exhibits a positive attitude and approachable demeanor; demonstrates teamwork capabilities.
  • Possesses fundamental computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Displays strong written and verbal communication skills along with exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliability is crucial; availability for afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts may be necessary based on departmental needs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours weekly is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Experience in connecting students with campus resources.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft software.
  • Fluency in Spanish is advantageous.
