Job Description

The role of School Engagement Officer requires effective administration, coordination, and interpersonal communication skills to design and deliver a range of initiatives that support engagement and promote research with staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders.

  • Liaise with staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders to support the planning and implementation of school engagement activities.
  • Coordinate activities and events that enhance the student experience and deepen learning.
  • Coordinate academic workshops and conferences that support and promote the school's research.
  • Coordinate the production of collateral in support of scholarships, prizes, program projects, and events.
  • Create and publish a range of internal content required for the promotion of school activities, initiatives, and programs that may be used for news, events, and school websites.
  • Promote greater awareness of and engagement with the school through management of their websites and social media channels.
  • Liaise with marketing and engagement teams in the delivery of complex high-profile events and in the design and production of marketing content, digital assets, and bespoke collateral.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations by managing administrative tasks efficiently and adhering to financial policies and relevant approval processes, while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Undertake other duties consistent with the above as may be required from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and deliver initiatives to engage staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders.
  2. Manage the production of collateral in support of scholarships, prizes, program projects, and events.
  3. Develop and maintain internal content to promote school activities, initiatives, and programs.
  4. Enhance the student experience and deepen learning through event coordination and academic workshops.
  5. Manage school websites and social media channels to promote awareness and engagement.
  6. Support the delivery of complex high-profile events and develop marketing content and digital assets.
  7. Ensure efficient administrative tasks and adhere to financial policies and approval processes.
About You

Candidates will require effective administration, coordination, and interpersonal communication skills. A degree or diploma with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training is required. Candidates should also have an understanding of event management principles and/or social media engagement strategies, along with demonstrated competency in high-level written, oral, and interpersonal communication and negotiation.

A commitment to customer service, stakeholder engagement, and internal service provision is essential. Proven experience in positive communication, Microsoft Office Suite 365, and software supporting events and engagement activities is also necessary. The successful candidate will be able to exercise initiative and judgement as appropriate and commit to upholding the University's values.
