Job Opportunity:

The Mornington Peninsula Shire seeks a highly experienced and commercially astute commercial manager to lead the strategic management of high-value maintenance contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the commercial and contract management of high-value and high-risk contracts
  • Developing and implementing contract management strategies to achieve service delivery goals and other objectives
  • Monitoring contractor performance, managing relationships, and negotiating variations and claims
  • Providing market insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing commercial leadership and expertise in planning contract strategy and management
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing complex contracts, preferably in infrastructure or related sectors
  • Relevant qualifications in Business Management or Contract Management, with experience in maintenance and infrastructure desirable
  • Previous experience in government contract management is highly regarded
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles and Australian contract law
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders
  • Leadership abilities, capable of influencing decision-making processes and coaching team members in commercial contract management approaches
