About the Role

Mercy Community Family and Child Connect (FaCC) program is seeking a highly motivated and passionate First Nations Family Response Facilitator to join their team. This is a Permanent, Full-time position, located in a supportive and inclusive environment.

You will engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families within the region. Your expertise will be essential in providing information, advice, and referrals to families with multiple and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess information provided in a referral and engage with families to provide information, advice, and referrals
  • Provide services to the region for the Family and Child Connect team
  • Engage with families and service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • An Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person, as it is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology or relevant discipline (highly advantageous); OR extensive demonstrated experience in a family support service position
  • Previous experience working effectively across a range of service providers, both government and non-government, to negotiate high quality service provision to families who have complex needs
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence
  • A positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain
