**Overview of the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client, a leading player in the domestic FMCG industry. The successful candidate will lead the Accounting and Finance department, overseeing financial operations and driving business growth.

About Our Client

Our client is renowned for its robust market presence and commitment to delivering high-quality consumer products. With operations across 4 states, this is a truly national entity with excellent scope attached to the role of Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead EOM processes including reporting, GL close and reconciliations.
  2. Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  3. Coordinate budgeting processes and monitor expenditure.
  4. Optimize financial processes for efficiency and transparency.
  5. Cash flow management and forecasting, including preparing and updating daily cashflow forecast and managing treasury duties
  6. Accounts payable management
  7. Managing the year-end audit process, including preparing year-end files and supporting schedules and Statutory Accounts
  8. Preparation of supporting tax schedules and other supporting documents for tax professionals
  9. Review of management accounts and preparation of variance analysis
  10. Mentoring and developing staff

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant, ideally with training in audit and taxation (most likely from public practice).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting processes and taxation in an Australian context.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
